Along side my creative work I am currently working towards a PhD on mental health in actors through Manchester School of Theatre (Manchester Metropolitan University).
I am founding director of Playing Sane*, a not-for-profit organisation looking at issues of mental health in the creative industries. I also work as a Lived Experience Influencer with the National Suicide Prevention Alliance.
Previously, I sat on the North West Committee for the charity Rethink Mental Illness, and am proud to still be involved with their peer support group in Manchester.
Mental health awareness is built into everything I do and I am happy to work with individuals who are living with distress.
I am always happy to work with any organisation that wants to improve their practice around mental health awareness, stigma reduction, access and inclusion. If you are interested in engaging me on this topic please contact me HERE.
Please be aware that I am not a therapeutic practitioner (i.e. I don’t treat people). My work is focused on lived experience, workplace wellbeing and mental health, and research.
- Playing Sane is currently being converted from a not-for-profit to a charity. Activities have been paused while this is underway.
